| Robert A. M. Stern is a practicing architect, writer and Dean of the Yale School of Architecture. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and received the AIA New York Chapter's Medal of Honor in 1984 and the Chapter's President's Award in 2001. As founder and Senior Partner of Robert A.M. Stern Architects, he personally directs the design of all of the firm's projects. Over its thirty-eight-year history, Robert A.M. Stern Architects have established an international reputation as a leading design firm with wide experience in residential, commercial, and institutional work. As the practice has diversified, its geographical scope has widened to include projects in Europe, Asia, South America, and throughout the U.S.. The firm has earned international recognition, numerous awards and citations for design excellence, including National Honor Awards of the American Institute of Architects.
